About This Game Hotel Blind is a simulator of a blind person in a hotel room. Enter a new room and complete five objectives before leaving the room. Text popups and audio describe the objects in the room and the walls, allowing you to map out the room in your mind as you play. Navigate the room using movement keys or your gamepad. Completing all of the objectives will complete the room. Each play starts a random room. Hotel Blind can be a standard experience, or a VR experience on the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. Hotel Blind is powered by Unreal Engine 4. AVOID THIS GAME LIKE THE BLACK DEATH!This is what's considered a 'game' these days? Horrible. Absolutely horrible. It's just a black screen, no music, around 10 total text notifications, with brief stock sound effects.Even with this minimal amount of 'gameplay', it's still frustrating; you tend to get stuck on objects in the room, and I guarantee you will sigh frequently as you hunt for the last thing you're supposed to do, just waiting for it to be over.Speaking of the objectives, let's talk about those... you get a list of objectives that don't change each time, just the locations of these objects in the small, black room. They are boring things such as 'brush your teeth', and 'sleep', though why you'd need to sleep when you're trying to brush your teeth and seemingly get ready to leave is beyond me.Now for the only positive this game has: the achievement. This game has one achievement, for finishing the short, short game (around 3-5 minutes), but even then you have to beat this nightmare twice in order to get the achievement, as it seems to be bugged the first time you complete the room. So yeah, this is obviously someone trying to throw together the most minimal, bare bones of playability and put a two dollar price tag on it in hopes of making any amount of money that they can with this throwaway garbage. I'd say it's a scam, but it does function, just in the most basic way that would be embarrassing for even a student project. Trying to charge money for this heap is where I draw the line, however. So if you simply MUST get this game, just to pad out your perfect game number, just make sure you idle it for over 15 minutes, so that it will count on Astats. And remember that the dev is laughing at you (and me) for purchasing this, while he sips on Cristal from his ruby-encrusted goblet.. Ok.. are you blind? if you are... you will probably not see this review but this game will fit you..If you are not blind... then you can try to play this game.You have a black screen.. and this is yet a 2D dungeon crawler that you need to navigate in a pitch black room that comes with random items and random shapes complete object.. find the key and get out...IT's a smart concept.. with nice voice narration.. but too bad for normal people that's rely on eyesight. It became too boring to continue after lost there way and cannot use visual to guide you... Try and Error became troublesome after the first 5 minutes.For a blind player.. you probablly have no problem navigate though this pitch black maze.But for regular player. The smart thing to do is pull out old school dungeon crawler trick.. use a paper and a pen.. draw arrows and count your steps...5/10... Not a really bad small game but stay away unless you are blind else you are in for a whole world of hurt.. It's a novelty item. Take minimalist text gameplay, reduce it even more, simplify it down to the bare bones of "have you ever wondered what it would kind of be like to be blind for a night without the effort of putting on a blindfold?" and get a single achievement for the game: and bam! You are good to go.I wouldn't recommend it at full price, only in bundle, like I said, it's very *novelty.* But I was entertained in the whole oh 5 minutes it took. Pros: minimalist to the max.Easy on the eyes (lol)Easy on... everything.Cons: There is literally nothing else to it. If it wanted to be more a game than a novelty ordeal, it could incorporate some old school text-based game tasks such as going to work outside the hotel room, adding in minigames for using the laptop, showcasing tricks that the visually impaired use for other daily tasks: or even just the brushing teeth and such, etc.I do like collecting SJW-approvable games & 100%-ers so yaaaay. YMWV If nothing else, you can easily finish it in a quick return time if you do buy for novelty experience. Otherwise it's bundle filler and I've definitely played far worse in that regard.. the art style for this game is so unique that i couldn't believe it. ihad to take my time and breath because i was so wow'd by just the opening screen. when i was put into the room I really felt like a blind person. it was so emmersive and could definitly be implemented into games such as skyrim and other great RPGs. everyone is like "there needs to be differetn creeds"{. well i think there needs to be different types of blindness for equality. In my living day to day life i now close my eyes and prentend im in hotel blind.
